Truck Drivers Concerned About CSA

Tractor trailer drivers are voicing their concerns with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's Compliance, Safety, Accountability initiative designed to reduce semi accidents.

Tractor trailer drivers are voicing their concerns with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's Compliance, Safety, Accountability initiative (the CSA). The American Transportation Research Institute recently released a press release indicating that truck drivers are concerned their lack of understanding of the CSA. According to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, the CSA is designed to "improve large truck and bus safety and ultimately reduce crashes, injuries, and fatalities that are related to commercial motor vehicles." This program will allow close monitoring of commercial carriers and their operation as interstate carriers. A carrier with poor safety performance could be subject to an "Unfit Suspension" and be prohibited from operating its vehicles. For information on the press release, click here. For more information on the CSA please visit the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's website here.
